2018 Spring League Week 3
Mr. Rogers Neighborhood
We’ve received more rain on the field over the last 2 weeks than we did over the previous 12 months combined. That being said, we’ll get the teams in this week that didn’t get to play week 1, with the lightning, then we’ll get back to our regularly scheduled program with all 16 teams playing after that.
-Rain is currently expected during the week and possibly on game day, but we’ll play regardless of field conditions this week, since we only have 3 games to play.
-This will now delay start of the Summer League by 2 weeks.
-Spring has always been notoriously hard to get teams in, 16 teams is the most ever since I’ve observed going back to 1983. 6 A-class teams is the most ever in any league, with 2 other B-class teams (Bull Gerbil, Wild Dogs) that are likely candidates to move into A-class in the future, depending on their Spring results. Bull Gerbil is 2-0, winning 46-7 combined. Wild Dogs made their JFFL debut 36-0 and lead 12-0 over the Jokers in their 2nd game, before the vets rallied to win in the end.
-Looking forward to that Bull Gerbil/Wild Dogs game in 2 weeks along with the Young Gunz/PWO and Prime Time/Team Elite match-ups…all appear to be the top 6 teams in the JFFL so far…the Relenteless/Real Deal game may vault the winner up to elite team status.
-Terror Squad may have wrapped up Delta with their 2-0 Delta start, but we’ll see how week 6 plays out in a rematch with Crisis that went O.T. first time around.
Games to Watch
9am (0-1)Bertolotti Disposal vs (0-1)TagEmBagEm+1
This will be a first time meeting between these 2, BD looked tough in their 7-12 loss to Real Deal, their 1st game in the JFFL. TagEm lost their season opener to rival Relentless, previously Tag beat Relentless twice.
10:15am (1-0)Relentless vs (0-1)LB Ballers+4
First time meeting between these 2 squads. Relentless opened up the Spring with a win over their rivals (TagEm),they were previously 0-2 against Tag. Prior to that Relentless last played in Fall League when they won the Sam Dickerson Memorial Bowl 26-12 over Dirty Goats. LBB, Winter’s Charlie Division champions, looking to rebound after last games loss.
11:30am(1-0)Jokers vs (0-1)Crisis+14
This is a make up game from the lightning suspension in week 1 (The Lightning Bowl). Crisis lost a close O.T. game by yardage in their first game in the JFFL.Will take that knowledge and experience in their JFFL opener and try to turn the table on the veteran Jokers.
